The Harlem Globetrotters perfected the weave on the basketball court. Vutec Corporation’s out to do the same for projection screens.

The company uses weaves instead of perforations for its acoustically transparent screens, and its SoundScreen acoustically transparent fabric just got better.

Vutec has announced that SoundScreen features a tighter weave plus a new transparency so there’s no moire. The tightly woven vinyl-coated fabric also hangs flat, so you don’t have any need for tab tensioning, according to company president Howard Sinkoff.

As for the audio aspect of the acoustical transparency—remember, these are the type of screens where you can hear your great audio without seeing it because you get to hide the speakers behind the screen—Vutec says you’ll have maximum quality of sound transmission thanks to the new SoundScreen.

For video, the tighter weave reflects more brightness, and there’s less loss of light as well as less of textured appearance to the screen fabric.
