The Dominican Convent Resource Centre is a magnificent church with the altar and stained glass windows offering a stunning backdrop to this proposed conference centre and existing church.

The Challenge: Designing an Audio Visual display system that would provide conference delegates with the ideal presentation display system without permanently detracting from the architectural and aesthetic beauty of this venue.

The Solution:

• A floor mounted “Vutec” ascending screen (3m x 2.25m). The screen can be fully retracted when not in use thus providing an uninterrupted view of the Stained Glass Window and Altar.
• 4 x plasma display screens wall mounted on tilting arms allowing them to sit flat against the walls when not in use.
• A side wall mounted projector (ceiling suspension was not an option), with both horizontal and vertical keystone correction, allowed a perfect image to be projected from an offset position.
• Full Control of this system is provided via a simple to use icon based Colour AMX touch screen.
• The audio system comprises 6 x Column Speakers, Amplifier, Lectern mic plus 3 x Radio Mics.

When not in use the AV system becomes discreet and unobtrusive allowing the beauty of this room to be fully appreciated.
